Digital Driver's License

Fifth grade students have been working on getting their Digital Driver's License in order to learn more about online safety and safe use of technology.

Did you know...

  • almost half of all teens report they had sent a text message they later wished they hadn't.
  • a secure password could have numbers, symbols, or even purposefully misspelled words.
  • you should never give your passwords or account numbers to someone who calls you or sends you an email, even if they claim to be from a company you use (such as Netflix or your bank).

Fifth grade students also received a booklet about online safety which should be coming home. You can ask your child about something they learned, such as about how to create secure passwords (check out this link) and to think about what information and pictures they post/share/text.

You can also check out more information about the DDL by clicking on "About the DDL" near the bottom of this website. Students used their Benton Google Apps account to login and complete the activities.
